Rites Wednesday For Dr. F. Manget Services for Dr. Fred Prosper Manget of Atlanta, former missionary to China, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Marietta First United Methodist, burial in Marietta City Cemetery.

Dr. Manget, 91, died Sunday. He received his medical degree from Emory University in 1906 and began his missionary work in China in 1909, serving in Soochow and Huchow. In 1918, at the request of the American Red Cross, Dr. Manget, joined a volunteer to Siberia to assist political prisoners, "boxcar refugees" and Czech citizens.

his work, Dr. Manget was decorated by President Jan Masaryk of Czechoslovakia. With the aid of several Huchow citizens and other missionary personnel, Dr. Manget built the 200-bed Huchow General Hospital in 1924. When Japan invaded China, be remained at his post, treating wounded soldiers and civilians.

In recognition of his services to the Chinese people, Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek commissioned him an honorary colonel in the Chinese Army and later decorated him. In the autumn of 1941, after the outbreak of World IL, Dr. Manget was asked by the United States Public Health Service to go to Reid Duncan, Emory History Professor, Dies Funeral arrangements for Reid Bingham Duncan, a history professor at Emory University, will be announced by H.M. Patterson Son, Spring Hill. Dr.

Duncan died Sunday at the age of 67. A native of Athens, he had taught at Emory since 1946, specializing in United States diplomatic history. Dr. Duncan was author of the book "Whitelaw Reid: Journalist, Politician, Diplomat," a biography of the late publisher of New York Tribune. A U.S.

Army veteran of World War II, Dr. Duncan began his teaching career in 1938 as an assistant professor of history at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa. He received his doctorate in history from Cornell University in 1938. Dr. Duncan was a Fullbright Lecturer at the Cheng Chi University in 1959.

He was a member of professional societies, The Southern Historical Association, American Historical Association, Society of American Historians and the American Association of University Professors. Surviving is his daughter, Mrs. Susan Duncan McDougald of New Orleans. Hubert Nall Rites Planned For Tuesday Services for Hubert Nall 83, of 1676 West Sussex Road N.E. will be at 11:30 Tuesday at Spring Hill, burial in Arlington Memorial Park.

Mr. Nall, founder and owner of Hubert H. Nall died Monday. A native of Long Oak, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War 1.

He was a member of the Yaarab Temple for 50 years and also was a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club. In 1975, Mr. Nall was named National Apple Man of Year, and in 1976 he received the Blue Book Award for outstanding honesty and integrity in business. He was a member of the Haygood United Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Stewards and the Board of Trustees. Survivors include his widow, Mrs.

Sue Nall; son, Hubert Nall Jr. of Atlanta; and brother, Clarence Nall of Knoxville, Tenn. Claude L. Gross Services for Claude L. Gross, 65, of 119 St.

Elmo Court, Mableton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at White Columns Chapel, burial in New Smyrna Cemetery. Mr. Gross, a retired director for Alterman Food died Monday. He was a native of Mableton.

Manget returned to Huchow and remained at his hospital until 1949. After that, he did medical relief work in Kobe, Japan, and Seoul, Korea. During the summer of 1949, he returned to. the United States. Making his home first in Atlanta, then Newnan and Macon, Dr.

Manget continued his missionary work. While in Newnan, he served as president of the Manget Foundation, which distributed funds to colleges, foreign missions and private pies. Later, he served as a volunteer professional with the Bibb County Welfare Department, the Georgia State Department of Family and Children Services and other organizations. He was the of Mrs. Jennie Loyall Manget.

Survivors include his daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Manget Minter of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Jeanne Manget Seehorn of San Pedro, Mrs. Louise Manget Cate of Atlanta and Miss Mildred Manget of Frankfort, Ky. Mrs.

Representative J.R. McCracken Is Dead At 75 AVERA Services for J. Roy McCracken, who served in the Georgia House of Representatives for 40 years, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, burial in the church cemetery. Mr.

McCracken, 75, died Monday. A graduate of Mercer University Law School in 1925, he was first elected to the House in 1934 and served until his defeat in 1974.
