owlsports.com/students for all up to date Athletic information for students!

Temple University Athletics provides numerous events to engage the campus community. Athletics is also excited to increase our awareness of upcoming games on campus. Some of these include: The CherryOn Pep Rallies the Friday before home football games at the Bell Tower, the Free Student Tailgate at every home Football game located in Lot K23 that includes free food & drinks, music, tailgate games, and giveaways. This is also the closet spot to enter the stadium. Students can watch their Owls on campus for men’s basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball, field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s gymnastics, and lacrosse! Remember to wear Cherry on Fridays, you never know what prizes you could win if spotted!

Here are the questions parents and family members frequently ask us:

Do Temple Students Get Free Student Tickets?

Temple students are eligible to receive one (1) free ticket to all home football, men's basketball, and women's basketball games. These tickets are based on availability, are limited to one per student. Student tickets are now mobile and require students to claim them via the ticket links. Visit owlsports.com/students for the links and instructions to download the tickets. Students will need to create an account the first time they download their tickets (this is different from their TUportal login). They will need their TUID number to access tickets. Tickets will be available for football when students move back to campus. Basketball tickets will be available around mid-October. If students have any issues with tickets, they can find us in the Student Center during game week, at the pep rallies, or by visiting the Liacouras Box Center during the week.

Students can also purchase a Wild Cherry Pass for $35 that provides priority seating in the student section for Football, free shirt, and opportunities to travel to postseason games. Students will receive a mailer sent to their home with this information in early August.

All other Temple Athletics events including Volleyball, Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Soccer, Gymnastics, and Lacrosse games are free for all fans and do not require tickets. Visit owlsports.com/calendar to find out when these games are! Weekly schedules will be posted in all dorms, the Student Center, and on the TV’s around campus.

Where do the Temple teams play their games?

Temple Football plays at Lincoln Financial Field; home of the Philadelphia Eagles and Temple Owls (see below for free transportation information for students). Temple Men’s and Women’s Basketball plays in the Liacouras Center on Broad St.; the student entrance is at the corner of 15th St. and Montgomery Ave. Temple Volleyball and Gymnastics compete on the court in McGonigle Hall. Field Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, and Lacrosse play at the Temple Sports Complex located at Broad and Master St. a few blocks away from campus!

Can I Bring a Friend to a Football or Basketball Game?

Temple students can bring a friend to the game for just $10! Guest tickets can only be purchased on GAME DAY at the Box Offices of Lincoln Financial Field and Liacouras Center. Student guests will sit with their friend in the student sections. The guest of the Temple student will need to show their school ID along with their ticket to enter the stadium. Student guest tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last!

How Do I Get to Lincoln Financial Field from Campus?

For all home football games, the Temple Athletic Department provides students with free transportation to and from Lincoln Financial Field. Buses will pick up students 3 hours prior to game time at five different Temple locations: 1300 Cecil B. Moore Ave, Johnson & Hardwick Residence Hall, the Student Center, 15th and Montgomery Ave, and the Ambler Campus Commuter Parking Lot. Buses on main campus will shuttle to and from Lincoln Financial Field leading up to the start of the game. Please note, there is an ADA accessible bus that is that runs as a part of the shuttles to and from the Student Center. Buses will only make one pick-up for students at the Ambler Campus. Buses will pick up students at the location they were dropped off at after each game and return them to campus.

Another option is students can take the SEPTA Subway to and from the games. Students take the Broad Street Line from the Cecil B. Moore Station located at the corner of Broad St. and Cecil B. Moore Ave. (outside the Law Bookstore). They will take the subway all the way to the last stop which is NRG station located outside the Stadium Complex and walk to Lot K23 to the student tailgate; after the game they can return via NRG station and take the subway back to campus. There is a fee to ride the subway that is not covered by the University. Just remember going to the stadium is Southbound and going back to campus is Northbound.

Is there an official Student Booster Club?

Yes! The Cherry Crusade is the pride of the Cherry & White and the most passionate Owls fans we have. The Cherry Crusade is an official student organization and sit in the front few rows of the student sections. They are the diehard fans who paint up, lead the student section in cheers, are the first to know about giveaways and student contests, invites to private athletic events, and first access to post season travel (including Bowl games and NCAA tournaments if our teams qualify). Students who are interested in joining should email tucherrycrusade@gmail.com as soon as possible to gain info prior to the semester starts. This is a great way for new students who are looking to make friends to go to games with and become engaged with our Athletic teams. The student sections for Football will start at section 115 and wrap around the endzone and for Basketball will be behind the basket and overflow in the second level if needed.

We have an incredible season coming up and cannot wait for our new Owls to join the Nest! We need as many fans as possible to pack the student section at each of our games! Our student athletes feed off the energy our students provide, and we can’t do it without you! If students have any additional questions, please email Katie Colbridge Ganzelli at katie.colbridge@temple.edu
